Highlights from 2009 NHL All-Star Game in Montréal
Hi All,

Just found the highlight's from this year's National Hockey League All-Star Game in Montréal. When you have 8 minutes, check out: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=s2yYcAmOguM I think it's a great way to learn from the expert's positioning, passing, shooting, stick-handling, etc.

Cheers,

Great video.

The NHLVideo channel has gotten really good over the past few months since they upped the quality of their videos. It's actually watchable now!

Re: Highlights from 2009 NHL All-Star Game in Montréal
While I always love watching the All-Star game I know many back in Canada who never watch it because it's not a hockey game, and they have a point. There is no passion in the game, or defense, or checking. Most goalies are never properly warmed-up and never really try for fear of an injury. The passing plays are often overly elaborate and would rarely work in a proper game. I do think it's a good bit of fun but it's not really a good representation of a hockey game.

On a side note, Setanta Sports shows NHL games in the midnight to 8am time slot every couple of days. They are the games that ESPN America (formerly NASN) show but a couple days to a week later. The games are from a mix of different networks in Canada and the USA. The best coverage are the CBC games, followed by the TSN and SportsNet games. Any ESPN, NHL VS, or NBC coverage might as well be watched on mute because their commentators rarely talk about the game and aren't as knowledgeable.
