The following is the schedule for the National Trials which are being held on June 1st in O'Loughlin Gaels GAA Club, Kilkenny.

Men

1:00 - 1:20 Registration

1:20 - 1:40 Introduction and Description of Drills

1:40 - 2:00 Changing time

2:00 - 4:30 On Court Drills

4:30 - 5:00 Review of Session

 

Ladies

3:30 - 3:50 Registration

3:50 - 4:10 Introduction and Description of Drills

4:10 - 4:30 Changing time

4:30 - 7:00 On Court Drills

7:00 - 7:30 Review of Session

 

The following is the minimium equipment required by all participants

Helmet (Full cage to be worn by U18s)

Gloves

Elbow pads

Knee/Shin Guards

Protective Cup

Skates with All wheels in place

 

We also ask that all participants bring the following

Photocopy of Passport

2 Jerseys, 1 Light and 1 Dark, preferrably numbered

 

Please inform the Coaching Staff of any Medical Conditions that may be of relevance.

Dear Members,

I would like to inform you all that Inline Hockey Ireland's Annual General Meeting, for the year of 2013, will be taking place on May 25th at 13:00 in Little Island Sports Complex. All members of Inline Hockey Ireland are eligible to attend and are encouraged to do so.

The agenda for the AGM will be released before Friday, May 3rd.

Senior Mens and Ladies

The aim of this program is to increase the standard of Inline Hockey in Ireland by means of Training/Trials for a National squad and also a National Development squad, where players will be taught drills and skills that will improve individuals standard of the game. The program is being run for both Men and Ladies with the goal of sending teams to the FIRS World Championships in France July 2014

The structure of the program is to have a number of Training/Trials to examine the skill standard then split the players into the two different programs.

3 different dates are scheduled initially in various locations around the country to allow players ease of access to the program. (More dates may be added should the coaching staff see the need)

The Dates are as follows

  • Sat June 1st Kilkenny
  • Sat July 6th Newry
  • End of August

Requirements to be eligible to partake in the program

  • Players must attend 2 of the first 3 trainings.
  • Players are required to hold and Irish passport, this must be produced prior to travelling to tournaments.
  • Players must be aged 16 by the 1st of July 2014

Trainings will take place during the regular season (Sept to May) that will fit in with the National league schedule.

In order to run the program smoothly the following appointments are to be made

  • Mens Team Manager
  • Ladies Team Manager
  • Mens Head Coach
  • Ladies Head Coach
  • Assistant Coach*
  • Assistant Coach*

*Assistant Coaches may be common to both Mens and Ladies Programs.

The Coaching and Management staff will be required to report to the National Executive Committee on a regular basis to ensure that development and progress is being made. Likewise the Committee will aid the staff in any issues that cause hindrance to the program.

Everyone with some free time this Sunday and a passion for sport and entertainment is more than welcome to come support your inline hockey club at the Maree Community Centre and Social Club in Galway.

Games start at 10:00 and will be running all day.
