In 2001, IHI implemented the IHI Code of Discipline (the Code). Over recent years the Code has been used by the association to manage and resolve various disciplinary matters. However, following internal debate within IHI, it was decided to undertake a review of the Code in order to simplify the initial disciplinary process and the appeals process. Furthermore, it was also necessary to ensure that there was a minimum of overlap with the FIRS Game Rules (the Rules) as the Rules specify penalties/suspensions for various offences within the game.

The revised Code, which is in draft format and available for review, will be presented to the IHI Executive Committee at its next meeting (scheduled for 29 March 2006).

Following almost 8 months of planning, the Executive Committee of IHI has approved the launch of a new Men's National League. It has been agreed that the 2006 Men's National League will be held in DCU, Dublin, over two rounds (9 and 22 of April).

The top two teams in this years league will qualify for the CERILH European Club Champions Cup.

Inline Hockey Ireland has recently approved two new policy documents.

The first is the IHI Safety Policy. This outlines the responsibilities of all members with regards to the safety of IHI sanctioned activities. It includes information on Safety of Playing Areas, Equipment Requirements, and Respectful Conduct.

The second policy document is the IHI Sanctioned Events Guidelines. These guidelines are conditions which must be met in order for Inline Hockey Ireland to sanction various activities. Event organizers must assure Inline Hockey Ireland that these conditions will be met in order to receive approval as a sanctioned event.

Both documents are available in Adobe PDF format at the links above, or in the Downloads -> Policies section of the website.

Questions or comments on the two documents are welcome. Please address them to general.secretary@inlinehockeireland.org.
