Insurance

As the NGB of inline hockey, Inline Hockey Ireland takes out Public Liability and Personal Accident insurance coverage to cover the Association, our member clubs and our individual members.

This insurance only applies to registered clubs and members. Our list of registered clubs can be found on our clubs page and it is clubs responsibility to ensure that members are registered to participate. With new members trying the sport we allow a 3 week grace period to 'try out' before committing to registration.
Our insurance year runs 1st October - 30th September.

Additionally, insurance is only applicable when relevant risk assessments have been taken out and actions taken to minimise any identified risk. Insurance is our single biggest administrative expense and imperative we all take actions to minimise risks and in doing so insurance costs.

Coverage extends to all official club trainings of registered clubs, national team trainings, club promotion events and all IHI ran domestic competitions.

For additional events or tournaments to be covered they must be sanctioned by the IHI Executive Committee. Sanction requests can be submitted using this form, additionally there are fees payable depending on the type of event.

Personal Accident Insurance

Like all sports playing inline hockey carries a risk of injury of which all playing members and parents take responsibility of.

However, there are times when injuries occur and our personal accident insurance cover is there to assist with immediate medical costs, long-term disablement and temporary disablement.

Personal Accident insurance only covers registered & fully paid members of Inline Hockey Ireland participating in IHI sanctioned events (club trainings of registered clubs, national team trainings, club promotion events and all IHI ran domestic competitions).

To note this is not the equivalent of private medical insurance and if players feel they want additional coverage they are welcome to take out private insurance coverage.

If you have an injury at training or at a game it is your and your club's responsibility to report this to IHI using this form and returning to committee@inlinehockeyireland.org.

If your injury is serious and you need to make a claim the Insurance Claim Form must be completed in full and returned to committee@inlinehockeyireland.org.

All other information contained in the Policy Document. The certificate of insurance coverage can be requested by emailing committee@inlinehockeyireland.org.

Public Liability Insurance

Public Liability is in place in the event that injury or damage is done to the public or property under normal play at IHI domestic competitions, club trainings or club promotion events.

Public Liability insurance only covers registered clubs and members of Inline Hockey Ireland. Public Liability insurance only covers sanctioned events/trainings that have relevant risk assessments completed and all reasonable steps taken to reduce any risks.
