As published to clubs in November IHI League Management team has prepared a contingency plan for resuming competition in 2021 as and when restrictions allow.
A short report from Head Coach Ken Moussat from the U16 tryouts on 26th September 2020.
Following our AGM on 23rd August we are providing a brief summary of points that will have impact on IHI and our members over the next year.
We are providing an update on all leagues to conclude the 2019/20 season.
The development of officials plays an important aspect in the continued development of inline hockey in Ireland. With the help of World Skate Europe, Inline Hockey Ireland is implementing a development plan for officials to ensure there is continued development and support for all officials.
The structure involves 4 levels of qualification with the view that in future higher leagues will require higher qualifications. As a referee progresses through the levels of qualifications, their rate of expenses will increase. The rate of expenses for each level will be updated year on year. Officials get paid a mileage rate, daily taken and per game rate, creating generous expenses for the time and effort given up. As part of our development model all referees will be assessed and supported throughout the season, similar to a coach of any team.
All official’s will be required to do a separate registration on top of the usual IHI registration. This will cost €20 per season and covers access to all courses and development days throughout the season.
Every registered official will be given an IHI officiating jersey free of charge, but should it need replaced the official shall be responsible for the cost. All officials are responsible for the rest of their equipment, including black referee pants.
IHI will put forward any interested Level 3 qualified official to officiate at World and European events through World Skate and World Skate Europe, respectively. Please note this may require further training with to gain an international qualification. If necessary, and where possible, IHI will financially assist anyone wishing to pursue these opportunities.
