Senior Women

Inline Hockey Ireland is committed to improving the level of play of inline hockey in Ireland while also enhancing the stance of our sport in Ireland. A key element to this is the successful implementation of a Senior Women's National Team Programme.

This programme is designed to give the best chance of success for Ireland on the international stage, while also giving junior players something to strive for.

Structure of Programme

The management team are responsible for selecting a team and reserves to work with throughout the year. The coaching staff will usually hold try-outs each year. This squad will form the basis for selecting the final team that will represent Ireland at annual World Championships events.

If you want to be considered for selection please contact andrew.creane@inlinehockeyireland.org

Player Eligibility

  • Players must hold an Irish Passport
  • Players must be a minimum of 15 by January in the year of competition, so for 2022 competitions players must be born in 2006 or earlier.
  • Players outside of Ireland are eligible for selection but must make reasonable efforts to attend atleast 1 training camp in the year

Costs

As inline hockey or roller sports are not yet recognised by Sport Ireland we receive no financial assistance from the government. This means that all costs have to be funded by ourselves.

The association is committed to financially assisting as much as possible, but we need to be economically sustainable. Therefore unfortunately the majority of costs will fall on the players and their families. However, we will organise fundraising events and source as many sponsors as possible to ensure this cost is kept to a minimum.

To cover the costs of training throughout the year all players on the squad will be required to pay an annual fee.

All travel and equipment costs for Championships will be paid at cost and payments will be requested soon after final team selection.
